Switching between Tabs in Safari in a more friendly way

Man I like Safari :( It's a really cool fast/light/powerful/beautiful/all-the-last browser. I only got 1 small problem with it... THE KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS SUCKS ! I'm really used to Mozilla's friendly tab navigation , with Command-#number I can go right into the tab I want to, with Ctrl-Tab I can change from one tab to another however with safari I gotta press Command-Shift-Arrow or Command-Shift-[ and this requieres me to use both hands BOTH HANDS, can you believe it?

Today with the amazing release of Safari 4 I was thinking in giving Safari a chance again. I gotta admit the new Safari interface got my eye. I think is way better than chrome and I just love it, I still have the same issue with keyboard shortcuts but then I thought "im using a mac, there must be a way" so I started checking here and there and found a small work around to personalize certain behaivours in Safari and I found a way.
It's certainly kinda obvious but for those who don't know me I always say "if you don't define something I really doesn't exist". No matter how obvious is something if you don't define what it is that thing might never be remembered later as it never existed. For example if the sky is blue and you don't define it the first guy who says "the sky is blue" will take all the credit and everybody is going to love him for defining the sky's color.

Well im sure you are not here to read my ramblings since my blog is mostly technicall =P

To customize safari tabs behaiviour we are going to go to the preferences panel, there we are going to go into Keyboard & Mouse and then Keyboard shortcuts. Then all comes intuitive. Here you can see most of the system shortcuts, all you have to do is add your own shortcuts and they will overide the already existing ones for example I added the following 2:

Command-LeftArrow : Select Previous Tab

Command-RightArrow : Select Next Tab

And voila , that simple to get the desired behaiviour or something that I like more, go on and change everything you don't like about shortcuts on Safari or the entire system , im probbly going to change the Command-Alt-F to reach finder for a simple Command-K just like in firefox.

Have Fun

Note: during the creation of this post I realized that TinyMCE is not working on Safari 4 that's bad for alot of apps and I need to do something about it so I think I'll be updating my blog too for a more stunning chanting platform (made by me ofcourse) and take safari as an excuse hehe
